Disney-MGM Studios, which opened on May 1, 1989 as the third theme park at Walt Disney World Resort, encompasses 135 acres and showcases the incredible history of Hollywood movies with attractions, thrill rides and live shows. Disney-MGM Studios offers a variety of dining options throughout the theme park such as ‘50s Prime Time Café, Hollywood Brown Derby (an incredibly detailed replica of the original), Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano, Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant and Toy Story Pizza Planet. Many Disney-MGM Studios specialty shops can be found along Hollywood Boulevard, the main gateway to the theme park. Seasonal events at Disney-MGM Studios include Star Wars Weekends from mid-May to mid-June, ABC Super Soap Weekend in mid-November and the Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights throughout the winter holidays, among others.
